Charity Week and Crusader 5K Pep Rally
General Information
Thank you for participating in the Charity Week Crusader 5K & Pep Rally! All proceeds from this event will go to Charity Week charities & UD Athletics.
Times and Dates
Oct. 6-8 -- Pre-sale and Registration - 11am – 1:00 p.m. in Haggar
Oct. 9 -- ALL Pick-up, Check-in, and Registration starts at 11:30 a.m. @ the Tower
Charity Week Crusader 5k
The Charity Week Crusader 5k costs $5 to enter. The 5k will be one big loop around campus. The race will be timed. Race results will be available at www.udallasathletics.com. The top three men and top three women finishers will receive:
Commemorative race t-shirts. Runners must check in between 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Oct. 9.
Raffle
Each raffle ticket costs $2. There is no limit on the amount of tickets you can purchase. The drawing will take place at the Pep Rally on Oct. 9 @ 12:45 p.m. You must be present at the time of the drawing to win. Pick up pre-paid and day-of-sale raffle tickets on Oct. 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.
Blues Brothers Costume Contest
The Blues Brothers Costume Contest cost $2 to enter. Contestants don’t have to run in the 5K in order to enter the contest. Runners who have paid to run in the 5K are automatically entered into the Blues Brothers Costume Contest but are not required to participate. Contestants must register and pick up their number between 11:30am to 12:30pm on Oct. 9. All contestants must be present at 12:30 p.m. for pre-judging.
Judging Criteria
- All costumes must have the Blues Brothers theme
- Costumes can incorporate the messages of the Charity Week charities: Captain Hope’s Kids, Low Birth Weight Clinic, or One Mission Galveston
- Winning costume will be determined by authenticity, props, originality, stage presence, and overall presentation.
