University of Dallas announces new Sports Information Director

The University of Dallas announced today that James E. Marks III recently was selected as the new sports information director.

Prior to his UD appointment in September 2010, Mr. Marks completed marketing/communications internships at IMG (Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine) in Carrollton, Texas, US Youth Soccer in Frisco, Texas, and redraidersports.com (a rivals.com affiliate) in Lubbock, Texas. Most recently, he has served as a high school football freelance reporter for The Dallas Morning News.

Additionally, in his spare time, Mr. Marks volunteers on the street team for the North Texas Super Bowl XLV Host Committee in Dallas.

A May 2009 graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Marks earned a bachelor’s degree in Electronic Media and Communications. He also has completed post-graduate coursework at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas.

Among other recreational activities, Mr. Marks especially enjoys playing golf and fishing with friends and family. He lettered in golf at Hebron High School in Carrollton, Texas. 

A member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Carrollton, Mr. Marks presently is single.  He has two dogs.
