Kaita "Kai" Okitsu Joins UD Training Staff

Kai Okitsu has joined the staff of the University of Dallas as the assistant athletic trainer.  Kai earned his Master’s of Science in Kinesiology from UNLV; where he worked as head athletic trainer for Mojave High School in North Las Vegas.  While a graduate student at UNLV he worked on non-contact ACL prevention warm-up programs for female soccer players.  Prior to UNLV he earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise and Sports Science with a concentration in Athletic Training at the University of Utah.  While there he worked with Women’s Soccer, Football and gymnastics.  He also worked at Scott Pensivy Orthopedic Rehabilitation Therapy Services where he was responsible for rehabilitation and performance enhancements for athletes. 

The Yokohama, Japan native is also a certified strength and conditioning specialist, a kinesio-taping practitioner and certified in the use of the Graston technique.
