Incoming Freshman Committed to Success with University of Dallas Baseball

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas baseball team looks to build on a 26-14 record from their 2011 campaign by adding talent to all parts of the field.

With the squad losing five seniors to graduation, several positions remain influx entering fall ball and the 2012 season. Infielder Ethan Vidrine -- a local graduate from Keller High School -- is seeking to help the Crusaders right away as a freshman.

"We are excited to have Ethan with the program, and that he chose to pursue his degree and baseball career here at the University of Dallas," head coach Fraser Holmes said. "What he brings to the table -- his talent, work ethic, and pure love of the game -- will without a doubt contribute to the success of the program."

After netting 12 more wins than a season ago, the state of the program is one of growing optimism, with returners and a soon-to-be infusion of young talent in the fold. Ethan is joined by an outstanding class of incoming freshman, whose homes range from Canada to Mich. to Calif. and Texas.

The Crusaders in 2012 will compete for the first time as members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), with the opportunity to nab the conference's automatic-qualifying bid into NCAA III regional play.
