Professional Experience: 

Men's Basketball:

With the 2011-12 men's basketball season under his belt, Jarred Samples has a 32-74 record to his name as University of Dallas men's basketball head coach in four seasons leading the Crusaders on the hardwood. 

In the 2011-12 season, Dallas competed for the first time as members of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC). Achieving a 5-11 record in SCAC competition, the Crusaders claimed the West Divsion's No. 4 seed in the SCAC Championship Tournament. Dallas was eliminated in the quarterfinal, falling 82-59 to host school and East Divison No. 1 seed Birmingham-Southern College. 

Junior forward Tanner Bruffey was named to the 2011-12 All-SCAC Men's Basketball 'Third Team', while sophomore guard Joe Stephens garnered 'Honorable Mention' honors. 

Coach Samples' tenure at the University of Dallas has also seen six Crusader basketball players selected to the Association of Division III Independents' (AD3I) 'All-Independent' Team, two players named to the North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) 'All-Conference' Team, and one pegged a United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) 'Honorable Mention' All-American.

Also noteworthy, forward Ross Davidson was heralded AD3I 'Rookie of the Year' for the 2010-11 season, his freshman campaign. 

Coach Samples' 2008-09 and 2009-10 Dallas teams netted a combined 2-1 record in NEAC postseason tournament play. 

He spent two seasons (2006-07; 2007-08) as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at the University of Chicago before returning to Dallas -- his alma mater -- in Sept. 2008 to assume head coaching duties. 

During his time at Chicago, the Maroons won back-to-back University Athletic Association Championships and appeared in the NCAA tournament. Furthermore, Coach Samples was part of a men's basketball staff which was named 'Coaching Staff of the Year' for the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons. 

Prior to his appointment at Chicago, Coach Samples spent five seasons (2001-06) as Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas.

In his tutelage with Southwestern, Coach Samples helped the Pirates reach such heights as 2004-05 SCAC regular season 'Co-Champions' (11-3), having six student-athletes named to the SCAC All-Academic Honor Roll, landing the SCAC 'Player of the Year', the University's first NABC Division III 'All-American', and seeing three players selected 'First Team' All-SCAC. 

Additionally, Coach Samples has served as a men's basketball camp instructor at Princeton University (2008), Harvard University (2008), Southwestern University (Texas; 2002-05), University of North Carolina (2005), Georgetown University (2005), and the University of Kansas (2000-05). 

Personal:

Samples was a four-year letter winner -- playing basketball and golf -- at the University of Dallas before graduating in 2001 with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Asisde from his men's basketball duties, he holds the title of Head Golf Coach at the University of Dallas. Samples resides in Dallas, Texas, with his wife Sarah and daughter Addison.
