In three seasons at the helm as University of Dallas Women's Lacrosse head coach, Will Oakley possesses a 10-34 record, and to his credit helped the Lady Crusaders reach the five win pleateau in 2011 -- the most in school history.
Coach Oakley has been the benefactor of several players setting
game, season, and career marks at Dallas. Most notably, senior
captain Christine McFarland was a three year team MVP, four year
letter winner, and holds school records in six
categories.
He was previously the head coach for two WDIA teams, spending two
seasons at the University of California Irvine, where he earned
2005 Southeastern Women's Lacrosse League 'Coach of the Year'
honors. Prior to these experiences, Oakley led Georgia Tech to
their first top 25 WDIA ranking ever, and Tech was ranked in the
top 25 for portions of the 2005 and 2006 seasons under his
tutelage.
Originally from Wilmington, N.C, Oakley graduated with a degree in
Computer Science from Georgia Tech. A two-time team captain for the
men's lacrosse team, he also earned MCLA All-America honors his
junior and senior years. While helping Tech win the 2004
Southeastern Lacrosse Conference Championship, Oakley was chosen as
the 2004 Conference Offensive Player of the Year. He still holds
multiple scoring records for Tech and was an SELC All-Conference
selection all four years of his playing career.
He attended high school at St. Andrew's School in Middletown, Del., and was named to the all-Delaware Independent School Conference team, twice for lacrosse.
In the fall of 2010, Oakley was inducted into the Georgia Tech Lacrosse 'Hall of Fame' as part of the program's inaugural class.
