UD Womens Soccer Loses Weekend Matches

The UD women's soccer team traveled to Indiana & Kentucky this weekend to play Depauw University and Centre College. Unfortunately the outcomes were both defeats as the Lady Crusaders were shut out 4-0 by DePauw and 3-0 by Centre College.

Against DePauw, sophomore defender Rachel Yuengert (Moorpark, CA/La Reina H.S.) and junior defender/midfielder Natalie Weisse (Morgantown, WV/Morgantown H.S.) each had a shot on goal, but overall the offense struggled to get things going. And in the Saturday match against Centre College the offense stalled even more getting off just one shot from freshman forward Melissa Carpenter (Sugar Land, TX/Stephen F. Austin H.S.). On defense, senior goalkeeper Jennifer Boryca (Piqua, OH/Piqua H.S.) recorded seven saves against Centre College, but it just wasn't quite enough.

With these two losses, the Lady Crusaders dropped to 3-8 on the season. They hope to get back on track this Wednesday, October 7 at home when they take on Southwestern Adventist University. The game starts at 4:00pm.
