Women’s Cross Country captures Second; Jones earns Eighth in opening race

IRVING, Texas - The University of Dallas women's cross country team began their 2012 season on Saturday, as hosts of the University of Dallas Invitational. 

Dallas finished second as a team in th 6K race, only 11-minutes distant of champion Texas Wesleyan University. 

Other teams participating in the race included East Texas Baptist University, Southwestern University, University of the Ozarks, and the University of Texas-Tyler.

Finishing top-20 for Dallas were Mary Jones (Oneida, Wis.) in eighth place, tenth place Elizabeth Hinchley (Magnolia, Texas), Clare Myers (Grosse Point, Mich.) in 13th place, Colleen Slattery (Middle Ridge, Wis.) in 15th place, and Olivia Bach (Marshall, Texas) in 16th place. 

Women's Cross Country will head to Tyler, Texas, to compete in the University of Texas-Tyler Invitational held on Friday, Sept. 7.
