IRVING, Texas – Angela Moore (Austin, Texas) has been busy gearing up for a competitive senior season with the University of Dallas women's cross country team. After a successful campaign, where Moore led all UD runners in the final three races that included having earned United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) All-American First Team; Moore is striving for another great year by having run in a few summer meets.
Moore has participated in a trio of competitions. Two were local in the DFW Metro area known as the Luke's All-Comer Track Series sponsored by Luke's Locker. Both races were 1500 Meters on a track hosted at Greenhill School in Addison. On June 6th, Moore claimed second place out of 12 runners with a time of 5:07.12. Full Results
Later on in the month on the 20th, Moore raced again in the 1500m and won first place out of 18 competitors. Her time was nearly identical with a 5:07.41 finish. Full Results
Moore increased her distance with her most recent race known as the Fleet Feet Firecracker Fast 5K, which took place on Independence Day. Located in Little Rock, Arkansas, Moore was a top-five finisher out of a large group of 890 runners. She clocked a time of 18:19.39 on the watch and notched fourth place. Full Results
Moore debuted for the Crusaders in 2015 with the women's track and field program. After lettering that year, Moore switched to running just cross country her next two years. In the fall of 2015 Moore did not compete, but she rebounded her junior year and shattered her own personal records more than once. This included breaking the 6K school record at the USCAA Championship with a 23:38.0 mark to cap a fantastic year.
