  • Former UD Baseball Player Bobby Crook Promoted on Texas Rangers Amateur Scouting Staff

    ARLINGTON, Texas – Bobby Crook, who played with the University of Dallas baseball team in 2002 and ’03, has been promoted to Special Assignment Crosscheck with the Texas Rangers amateur scouting staff. The club announced his promotion along with other transactions for the amateur, professional, and international scouting staffs earlier this week.
  • Peterson competed with Dallas Dirtbags in NBC World Series

    WICHITA, Kan. – Mark Peterson (Cincinnati, Ohio) from the University of Dallas baseball team competed last week in the National Baseball Congress (NBC) World Series. The rising junior was part of the Great Southwest Collegiate League (GSCWL) Dallas Dirtbags, who won the regular season and league championship.

    LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its 2017 Spring Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today and 456 student-athletes made the list. Since its inception in 1997 just under 25,000 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.
  • Stickler selected to D3baseball.com All-Region 3rd Team

    IRVING, Texas – On Monday evening the 2017 D3baseball.com All-Region Teams were announced. Jordan Stickler (Grand Rapids, Mich.) from the University of Dallas Baseball team was named to the All-West Region Third Team as an outfielder. Players were nominated by the Sports Information Directors at the various schools.
  • Marshall and Abalos tabbed on USCAA Baseball National All-Academic Team

    NORFOLK, Va. – The University of Dallas baseball team placed a pair of players on the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) Baseball National All-Academic Team, which was announced on Sunday at the pre-tournament banquet. William Marshall (Frisco, Texas) was tabbed for consecutive years and Josh Abalos (Lewisville, Texas) received his first nod. In order to be eligible, players must hold a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Hammonds Headlines USCAA Baseball All-Americans with 2nd Team

    NORFOLK, Va. – On Sunday during the pre-tournament banquet the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) released the Baseball All-American Teams. Headlining a trio of members from the University of Dallas baseball team was Ryan Hammonds (Cedar Hill, Texas) on the Second Team.

    IRVING, Texas – On Sunday the University of Dallas Athletic Department celebrated the fourth annual athletic banquet held at Haggar University Center on campus. Each coach for the 15 NCAA affiliated programs were asked to summarize the year for their teams. The team-voted Most Valuable Players (MVPS) were announced and handed out. Coaches also noted other conference achievements, program records, and student-athlete milestones.

The University of Dallas baseball team had four players receive recognition – each for the first time in their careers.

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team dropped a non-conference game to Arlington Baptist College on Wednesday to conclude the regular season. This game had been added on Monday, since the Crusaders had an extra slot available to schedule a game after having a cancelled contest at LeTourneau University April 2.
  • Baseball earns Series Win on Sunday at Schreiner

    KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas Baseball team concluded the regular season with a five-run victory at Schreiner University, and secured its first series win in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) play. The Crusaders claimed the rubber game with their fifth contest to reach double figures in runs – second in conference play. UD’s pair of wins this weekend lifts the team to a two-win improvement from 2016.

    KERRVILLE, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team split the first two games of a its remaining Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) series at Schreiner University on Saturday. A pair of four-run innings in the opener propelled the Crusaders to their second shutout of the campaign. After coming back to knot the later game on two occasions, a third attempt fell a run shy.

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team ended the home portion of its schedule on Saturday against Trinity University. The Tigers prevailed 10-4 thanks to a big five-run third inning erasing an early 2-run lead for Dallas.

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team dropped a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) doubleheader on Good Friday to Trinity University. After being shutout 8-0 in game one, Dallas led by three runs in the second contest. However, the reigning NCAA Division III Champions scored in each of the last four innings of regulation to come-from-behind and win 5-3.

    IRVING, Texas – The University of Dallas baseball team dropped the rubber matchup in the series to Southwestern University on Sunday. The Crusaders were topped in seven innings of a run-ruled finale, as Southwestern collectively posted 15 hits and scored in five different innings to secure a series win.

In the series opener, the Crusaders captured a big win behind a trio of players with three hits. This included Enrique Vigil (San Antonio, Texas) going deep twice and driving in three.
  • Baseball Blasts by Dallas Christian on Tuesday

    DALLAS – The University of Dallas offense was extremely potent with its fourth contest to crack double-digits on the season with a 17-10 victory at Dallas Christian College on Tuesday. Dallas sweeps the three games on the season versus the opposing Crusaders and won for the first time ever playing at the ballpark on DCC’s campus. The Crusaders from Irving enjoyed notching several season-bests including: 23 hits, 15 RBI, six doubles, two triples, and three home runs.

    LONGVIEW, Texas - Due to severe weather in the Longview area, Sunday's contest between the University of Dallas baseball team and LeTourneau University has been cancelled. The game will not be rescheduled.
  • Baseball Splits at LeTourneau on Saturday

    LONGVIEW, Texas – The University of Dallas Baseball team claimed a split on Saturday to begin a three-game, non-conference series at LeTourneau University. After winning 6-2 in the scheduled seven-inning opener, Dallas came up short a run in the latter contest 8-7. Dallas ended a four-game losing stretch in head-to-head meetings dating back to 2012. The win at Conrad-Vernon Field was the first for the Crusaders since a 5-0 triumph in seven frames on March 12, 2011.

    SHREVEPORT, La. – The University of Dallas baseball team fell 8-0 on Sunday to No. 8 Centenary College. The Gents sweep lifted the ranked top 10 team to 16 straight wins and they remain unbeaten in conference. Dallas dropped its third in a row, being blanked consecutive games.
  • No. 8 Centenary claims Two Wins Saturday over Baseball

    SHREVEPORT, La. – No. 8 Centenary College was too much for the University of Dallas baseball team on Saturday, picking up two wins for a sweep on the day. Dallas hung tough after allowing a five-run first to give the top-10 Gents a 5-1 advantage. However, the Crusaders were only able to scrap the deficit to 6-3. Game two was a 10-0 setback after seven innings in the run-rule finish.
