LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. - GABBIE UNDERWOOD OF UNIVERSITY OF DALLAS, a first-year first baseman from La Verne, Calif., has been named the SCAC Softball Offensive Player of the Week for games played from Monday, March 19 through Sunday, March 25.
Underwood boasted multiple hit performances (combining to go 5-for-8) in a doubleheader this past week against McMurry University, as the Crusaders hosted a non-conference series. The freshman tallied two hits, drove in three runs, and scored once in the first outing. She followed with a three-hit outing that included a double, RBI, two runs, and stolen base in Dallas' win.
Underwood has hit safely in nine of the past 10 games, including a seven-game hit streak. Six of those contests have been multiple hit performances. She has driven in at least run during the last six games. For the season, she is batting .375 (10th in the SCAC) with 10 runs scored and 14 runs driven in.
Dallas is back returns to SCAC action for a series with Trinity University on Mar. 30th-31st. Start times for both doubleheaders are at 12 p.m.
