The University of Dallas women's basketball team opens a two-game home stretch this week with University of the Ozarks on Thursday. Tip-off is slated for 5:30 p.m. December 2nd the Crusaders will host Johnson & Wales University at 1 p.m.

Dallas (2-2) split the past weekend road trip up in the Midwest. After defeating Illinois Tech 70-42, the Crusaders were unable to keep up with Concorida Chicago on Sunday. The Crusaders will play six of the next seven contests at the Maher Center. They won 70-45 in their lone home contest this season.


- Michelle DeCoud (Monument, Colo.) has picked up where she ended last season and has led the squad in points all four games. The senior forward ranks second in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) for points-per-game (18.5), rebounds-per-game (9.3), and is fourth in field goal percentage (47.4).

- DeCoud is third in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA) in scoring average, and also earned Player of the Week with that league after averaging 18.5 points in three road contests.

- The Crusaders have held opponents to 60.5 points-per-game (ppg) and 34 percent field goals, which rank 2nd in the SCAC for both categories.

- UD has outrebounded opponents by 3.2 a contest, and that ranks second in the league.

- Helen Onyenso (Oak Park, Ill.) is another player that is averaging double figures with a 10.5-clip. She is tied with DeCoud for offensive rebounds with 17 and second overall with 24.

- Dallas is 6-10 in the all-time series versus Ozarks. It will be the first meeting against the Wildcats.

- The last time the Crusaders met Ozarks was November 22nd in Irving. The final was a 78-60 win. DeCoud was the only player on the current roster that appeared in that matchup.

- The Eagles are 1-2 this season.

- After splitting a pair of road games, Ozarks dropped its first road contest at Bacone by an 88-64 result.

- The team is shooting 37.2 percent from the floor on the year.

- Five players are averaging double-digits in points, with Hailey Ostrander heading that bunch with a 12.0 mark. Cassle Emerson (11.3) and Destinee Manning (11.0) are right behind.

-The Wildcats are 1-7 on the season and have been on a slide since winning the opener at Nebraska Christian. They are 1-5 in road games.

- JWU is on a four-game swing against SCAC opponents including stops at Colorado College and Centenary College this week before Saturday.

- Johnson & Wales is currently a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), but will be joining the SCAC next academic year.

- Andromeda Sales is the top scorer on the team averaging 13.1 points. Brianna Aluya is also in double-digits with 12.5 and Cara McNiff has chipped in a 9.7-clip.

- Aluya is also the top rebounder with 7.6 per game and 61 total.


Dallas plays its lone away contest next month up the road at Dallas Christian College. The second meeting between these teams will begin at 5:30 p.m. After that, the Crusaders open SCAC action with Colorado College on Dec. 16th.
